West McLean Soil Conservation District
What is an SCD?
Soil Conservation Districts (SCD) are locally-led, independent governmental units created by district residents that provide planning asssistance and implement programs to proect and conserve soil, water, farmland, rangeland, woodland, wildlife, energy, and other resources.

Our Story
The West McLean SCD was organized in March of 1950. It is located in McLean County, North Dakota adn includes all land in McLean County not included in the South McLean SCD. The Legal Description is as follows:
Township 147, N ½ Range 83, 84, part of Range 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, and 90.
Township 148, all of Range 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, and part of Range 91.
Township 149, all of Range 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, part of Range 90, and 91.
Township 150, all of Range 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, and part of Range 91.
This legal description includes approximately 734,000 acres. Lake Sakakawea forms the south and west boundaries. The north boundary is Mountrail and Ward Counties and the east boundary is the South McLean Soil Conservation District.
Board Meetings
The West McLean Soil Conservation Board Meetings will be held on the second Thursday of every month in the USDA Building in Garrison, ND.
October through May 10:00 a.m.
June through September 8:30 a.m.
These times are subject to change, especially during farming/ranching days. If you plan to attend, it may be advantageous to contact the office to verify the time of the next meeting.
Board meetings are open to the public to attend.
District Supervisors
The District is managed by a board of three elected and two appointed supervisors to establish and implement programs that protect and conserve soil, water, farmland, range land, woodland, wildlife, energy, and other renewable resources on the land.
